Are you ready to breathe life into architectural illustrations?
Meet your instructor Viviene. Watercolor Artist.

Viviene Astakhova is a watercolor artist who blends her love of fine art with her background in architecture. A graduate of an academic art school and architectural studies, she finds inspiration in travel and the cultures she encounters along the way. Her paintings capture the poetry of light and shadow in nature and the spirit of the elements, while her urban landscapes reveal new perspectives on familiar cities. Through her work, Viviene invites viewers to see the world with fresh eyes—airy, magical, and full of discovery.

I created this course to show how light and effortless architecture can feel when painted in watercolor and ink.

Even the heaviest buildings can appear airy and transparent, while light and shadow reveal the hidden richness of classical details. My goal is to help students see beyond the “mass” of architecture and discover the beauty and poetry in its forms. By the end of the course, I want students to feel confident in using their materials, to gain new skills, and to have the desire to paint the amazing scenes around us—even those that may seem ordinary at first glance—transforming them into something wonderful on paper.
