of drawing?
Meet your instructor Margherita. Illustrator.

Margherita Cole is an artist born and raised in Southern California. She discovered her love of drawing at an early age with a comic about her dog moonlighting as a superhero, and has been smitten with the medium ever since. Her passion for creating stories through art brought her to Falmouth University in the UK, where she received an MA in Illustration.

Since then, she has worked as a writer and an artist for My Modern Met, creating drawing tutorials on a range of subjects. She has also had a how-to-draw book published by Walter Foster called 'Cartooning Made Easy: Circle Triangle Square', where she shows how geometric shapes can make creating characters easy and fun.

By just picking up a pencil, you have the ability to sketch animals, plants, people, and much more. I created the course for anyone who is interested in drawing and everything that it can do.

While there is a lot to know about drawing, we will cover essential skills that will make rendering different subjects much more approachable.

By the end of this course, I want students to feel like they have a better understanding of drawing tools and supplies and what they can do as well as basic techniques that can be applied to projects both small and large.

This course gives the basics about drawing, including what materials to use, shading techniques with pen and ink, and dips into how to draw using basic geometric shapes. It also dips into how to draw the human figure. The reference photos are good choices to help learn basic drawing techniques. And Margherita Cole is a good instructor, who brings it all together well. MM Academy might want to consider offering a separate course focused on drawing the human figure.
