Become the lettering artist you've always wanted to be!
Meet your instructor Danison. He knows a thing or two about lettering.

Danison Fronda is a Filipino American Lettering Artist originally from New Jersey, but now resides in sunny Florida.

He officially started his lettering journey in 2018 when he accepted the daunting task of hand-lettering invitations and creating custom stationery and signage for his DIY wedding. Along the way, he realized his true passion for teaching modern hand lettering and doing wedding calligraphy.

Known for his bubbly and uplifting personality, you will quickly find that he embraces imperfections, encourages individuality, and advocates for continuous learning. His goal is to help aspiring creatives get rid of the “perfectionism” mindset and to find a lettering style that they can make their own. In other words, he will be your biggest cheerleader!

I created this course to help aspiring artists drown out their inner critic and to take the first step in creating a simple and beautiful lettering project!

Lettering can seem like an intimidating art form, but when we break it down and change our mindset, lettering is as simple as putting pen to paper. By the end of this course, I want students to feel like they have a basic foundation and understanding of the tools, materials, and concepts to attempt any script lettering style out there.

Danison’s step by step instructions were very helpful to me for learning the lettering process as a first-timer. His encouragement to practice, was key to commit these strokes to memory. Will continue to work on this! Thank you!

  1. Use a good, small-tipped brush pen to ensure your success as you begin learning to use pressure to control the width of your stroke.
  2. Start with the basics first and then move onto the ABCs before you start with words or sentences.
  3. Practice, Practice, Practice.

Start off with the Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen - Hard Tip. This pen has a smaller and less flexible tip that allows for more control. This pen is perfect for building up your confidence!
