Meet your instructor Elyse. Contemporary Painter.
L.A.-based Canadian artist Elyse Dodge is best known for her boldly colored geometric landscapes. Her distinctive visual language explores the dualities of abstract and literal, light and dark and stillness and movement.
Raised in British Columbia, her artist mother and builder father taught her about craftsmanship - and to see her surroundings as shape and color. Deeply inspired by West Coast scenery, her deconstructed landscapes focus on the fractal shapes that make up our world, skillfully blending the freedom of impressionism with the precision of geometry. Her work serves as a reminder that things are not always what they seem, and that the whole exists only as the sum of its parts.
Elyse’s landscape paintings and illustrations are featured in homes across North America, galleries in Whistler, BC and Los Angeles as well as showcased through corporate clients like: TED Global, The Amazing Brentwood, Cadillac Fairview, Oxford Property Group and more.
This course is for anyone who wants to be an artist but is struggling to find their style or a medium to express themselves.
I believe that everyone is born with an inner creative but that the only difference between you and me is knowing how to use the tools.
