Meet your instructor Floor. Embroidery Artist.

Having studied graphic design, after graduating Floor found her artistic freedom and expression through the more traditional art of embroidery. Entirely self-taught, she started her artistic journey in 2016 and is continually learning new skills and applying them to her work. She likes to explore the boundaries of traditional hand embroidery by creating mixed media piecesā€”using different materials and techniques to create contrast and compliment the thread itself.

During her journey, Floor has found that embroidery lets her explore the textures present in the world around her. Living on the coast means the beautiful beaches, scenery, and animals right at her doorstep constantly offer inspiration for new projects. Inspired by this coastal location, a favorite topic to explore in her pieces is the interplay between textures and water.

By sharing her knowledge she hopes to inspire others to take the same steps she didā€”to discover the joy of hand embroidery. Join her, and letā€™s create something beautiful, together!

I created this course to show students in an easy step-by-step way how they can combine embroidery with printed fabric.

I love helping other embroidery artists strengthen their skills and learn new things. I really enjoy working with printed fabrics and wanted to share some of my tips and tricks.

First we will find suitable pictures, then get the images printed onto fabric, and finally, add embroidery to create eye-catching artwork. I will show students how to master this mixed media technique, and the sky is then the limit!
